In Mumbai, he realizes that it is hard to make low budget films and he needs money to make his first film. Aryan is inspired by his sister's death and writes a script for a film named Dobaara – See Your Evil. He starts working with actor Purab Kohli on the script and the film begins shooting in Mumbai after getting funds from Aryan's mother (Swastika Mukherjee), who works as an airline stewardess. Aryan meets the assistant director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who is now a successful film director. Aryan's film stars Kay Kay Menon as the male lead and actress Sayyeshaa as the female lead. The cast includes Naseeruddin Shah as a cunning gangster and Ronit Roy as an honest police officer. Aryan later visits Kolkata to shoot for his film and discovers that his mother has been carrying money to her sister (Nandita Das), whom he had never met before. His mother tells him that his aunt will be joining them in Mumbai and it will be Aryan's responsibility to look after her from now on. During the shoot, the crew notices that Aryan is hesitant when shooting with Nandita Das. This results in a delay in production, which makes Aryan even more frustrated. He loses hope in his film and in life itself. The story shifts to a remake of the 1994 film DDLJ, in which Aryan has become a successful star and Nandita Das is now deceased due to cancer. His name is now synonymous with the male lead, with imitation films being made on his name with many similar actors fronting for him. In one such film directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra called Sargam, he gets paired with Raai Laxmi as a female lead. Aryan notices that the director of this film is none other than his best friend and fellow assistant director, Rakesh Omprakash Mehra. Aryan and Raai Laxmi become close and love blossoms between them. Rakesh also starts to fall in love with her. During a shoot, Aryan sees Nandita Das's ghost (Swastika Mukherjee) during a shot in which he is supposed to look out of window and say "I miss you", but instead he says "I hate you". He begins to get confused by it and tries to convince himself that it was all in his head. cfa1e77820
